Unique events, exclusively created for this special edition of “Classico è, Experience 2013”, to involve you in Chianti Classico, meant to be not only a territory, nor only an appellation, a real small world!
- Tuesday 28th May 4:30pm - Riserva wine vertical tasting at the castle: tasting the eight best vintages since 1997 of Chianti Classico Riserva. The tasting will be guided by wine-maker Federico Cerelli. Visit to the ancient cellar of the castle before the tasting Booking required - € 30,00
- Thursday 30th may 10:30am – Meeting our technicians : Sangiovese in Chianti Classico Viticulturist Francesco Caselli and wine-maker Federico Cerelli tell about Sangiovese grapes and wine in Chianti Classico. Booking required - € 25,00
- Jules Maidoff Art Exhibition at the castle: everyday free entrance to the castle to see the artist’s artworks. (office time) .
Our WineShop is open everyday : Monday to Friday 10am to 7pm , Saturday/Sunday 10am to 6pm.
Visit to the ancient cellar of the castle and wine tasting everyday: Monday to Friday 11am and 3pm , Saturday/Sunday 11am (€15,00)

Castello di Gabbiano hosts Jaguar and Ferragamo! Yesterday the event: at the Castello di Gabbiano the executives of Jaguar Land Rover Italy, delivered to one of the heirs of one of the most important and famous fashion houses in the world, Salvatore Ferragamo, the new Jaguar F-Type(for enthusiasts point out, it is a F-Type 3.0 V6 S in convertible version). Salvatore Ferragamo becomes Ambassador to Italy of the F-Type, he debuts at Mille Miglia driving a Jaguar C-Type, 1952, paired with another heir to a family that has made history in the automotive world, Michael Quinn, grandson of Sir Willim Lyons, founder of Jaguar Cars.

 Diamo un senso alle parole
Esistono parole che fanno ‘tendenza’ ed entrano a far parte del gergo moderno, usate comunemente, talvolta anche in modo inappropriato, perchè diventano parole chiave che comunicano modernità, serietà, attualità, affidabilità, qualità…..ma il significato di alcune di queste parole non è sempre così chiaro. Ad esempio ‘sostenibilità’ è una parola sempre più ricorrente, impiegata in ogni settore, economico, ambientale, sociale, ma sicuramente molte persone sarebbero in difficoltà a doverne spiegare il significato.
In ambito ecologico questo termine indica la capacità di un ecosistema di mantenere processi ecologici e produttività nel tempo. Un processo è sostenibile se utilizza le risorse naturali ad un ritmo che permetta a queste stesse di rigenerarsi naturalmente. L'umanità sta vivendo in una maniera non sostenibile, consumando le limitate risorse naturali della Terra più rapidamente di quanto essa sia in grado di rigenerare. E’ così facile comprendere quanto è importante uno sforzo sociale collettivo per adattare il consumo umano di tali risorse entro un livello di sviluppo sostenibile, è importante per il presente ed il futuro dell'umanità!
Esiste in Italia un progetto per la sostenibilità della produzione del vino, il progetto MAGIS, si tratta del primo e più avanzato progetto in Italia, e uno dei più avanzati al mondo. Castello di Gabbiano ha aderito al progetto Magis, prendere parte a questo progetto significa lavorare nel pieno rispetto della sostenibilità e sicurezza della vitivinicoltura, e noi puntiamo a raggiungere questa certificazione!
